Short description:
Today the emergence of new, or digital, media inevitably affects every member of modern society. Although the media affects all consumers, the most vulnerable group is young consumers (children and adolescents). Their relationship with popular digital media is much closer than any other user group.
Through the project “Mediaformers: Youth Laboratory of Media Deconstruction”, Šiauliai county Povilas Višinskis public library aimed to help young people to look at the media and use it critically. During the project, in cooperation with the Faculty of Communication of Vilnius University and the Faculty of Arts of Vytautas Magnus University, new media literacy trainings for IX – XII grade students of Šiauliai city and district gymnasiums were organized.
