On March 20, the first event of “MediaLab / Baltics“ took place in the library. This project is organized by USA Information Center Daugavpils, American Corner in Šiauliai and American Space in Narva and its goal is to unite active teenagers who are interested in media literacy and media content creation from the three Baltic countries.
5 teams from Šiauliai and Šiauliai region gymnasiums deepened their knowledge on media literacy: what is media literacy, fake news, how to recognize fake news, check source reliability, prepare good interviews, etc.
Now, the teams will participate in a three-week Challenge part, performing three creative tasks, which will be evaluated by the organizers and media literacy experts. At the end of the Challenge, the winning team will be invited to the final event in Latvia to polish their new media skills and to determine the ultimate winner of the competition.
